House Gauger was once a major, powerful noble House, but was banished several thousand years ago. Tupile did not exist at that time. To ensure the survival of their House, they mobilised their remaining resources, and negotiated a favourable contract with the Guild. It included transport to a planet beyond the edge of the Empire, at least the edge at that time.

200 years later, the Harkonnen rediscovered the planet's position by accident.

Nascent House Gauger minor is a new development. The usual perception of the house is that of is depraved and inbred noble family who live by trading with slaves. Yet, there is much more to them as it meets the eye.

House Gauger have extensive connection with the Tleilaxu. Their inbred nature requires genetic manipulation to avoid the side effects of their behaviour. Even than the Tleilaxu can not repair everything. One of the side effects of the long time Tleilaxu genetic engineering is the the good looks of the Gauger. Member of the House rarely have plain looks.
